Last week's meeting

Past president and current vice-president, Chris McDermott presided over last week's meeting in the absence of PresidentJohn May.  President Johnwas in Huntsville with his family while his kids attended Space Camp.  Gary Rutherfordoffered the invocation and led us in the pledge of allegiance.

President-electJim Crone introduced guests and visiting Rotarians.  We welcomedBob Mercer, a member of the Memphis East club and Alex Beloft, formerly a member of Memphis Downtown, but now a member of the Naples, FL club.  Visitors included Krissie Heuer, guest ofBill Matthews.  Krissie is the office manager at Business Equipment Center.  Lee Whipple introduced his guest,Martha Claxton.

Congratulations toTom Michaelwho held the winning raffle ticket in the Floyd's Fund drawing.  The total amount raised was $68.00 soTom received $34.00 and $34.00 was deposited into the club's Scholarship Fund.

Featured on the program last week were Evonne Siemer and her husbandDon who are well-known locally for their murder mysteries and  special programs. Evonne gave a unique musical presentation called “Name That Tune, Christmas-style.” The show offered tunes running the gamut from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer toOh Holy Night. The Siemers  filled the program  with fascinating  facts, lyrics and music.

Evonne  is a past president of Executive Women International. She also has been chairman  of Memphis City Beautiful and the Memphis Bar Association.
