The Rotarian magazine, August 2009
If you haven't already read the August Rotarian magazine, be sure to do so! Page 18 includes an article of special interest for our Memphis Central club-----“Club unleashes power of dreams”----which is all about our Dream Factory project.

There’s a great picture of Denali (the service dog we bought for new owner/recipient Skylar Bolton) wearing her red service vest and another of Skylar and Denali with friends at the service dog training facility.

Bert Canfield (chair of the club committee that spearheaded the project) is quoted in the last paragraph of the article. Bert says that his fellow Rotarians were overwhelmed by the impact of the project and plan to work with the Dream Factory to choose another recipient soon. “One of our members is the last recorded case of polio in Memphis,” Canfield says. “He came up and said, ‘This is the best thing I think we've ever done as a club.’ He was very moved by it.”

Club members celebrating August birthdays
08/11: Harvey Marcom (The Reeves Firm)
08/14: Marty Petrusek (consultant)
08/23: Rick James (Castle Retail Group)
08/26: Ray Darby (Junior Achievement)
