We will enjoy a box lunch then take a bus tour of the facility. The program coordinator: Jerry Daws

Please note: If you bring a guest(s) to this week’s meeting please let treasurer Bill Eddings send you an invoice rather than collecting money from you off-site. Thanks for your cooperation!

We extend our condolences to the Davis family upon the passing of Fred.
Fred Davis passed away on the morning of Monday, March 23. He was surrounded by his wife of 52 years, Mary, and his children. Fred was a loyal member of our Rotary club for many years. He quietly went about whatever tasks were assigned to him and always had a kind word for everyone. Fred will be deeply missed by all of us!

This is Mary’s address in case you want to send her a card: 2019 Quail Creek Cove, Memphis, TN 38119

The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Communion.

The 2009 Rotary District conference will be held in Memphis on April 23-25 at the Double Tree Hotel in downtown Memphis adjacent to the Peabody Hotel.. DG King invited everyone to the conference and said he is asking all Shelby County Rotary clubs who have regular meetings during the conference to suspend their meetings so that all area Rotarians will have an opportunity to attend the District Conference.

Flyers promoting the District Conference will be available at our meeting on April 3rd when we return to Chickasaw Country Club.
Club members celebrating April birthdays
None – how about inviting someone with an April birthday to attend----and join our club? We could add their name to our birthday list! (And fill in this blank space!)

Last week’s meeting
President Jack Robinson welcomed us to the 1,589th meeting of the club. Ray Darby gave the invocation and led us in the pledge of allegiance to the flag. Sgt. at Arms Daniel Augustine was back on the job where he immediately placed himself and Dick Wieland (cell phone infraction from the previous meeting) on the notorious Wheel. The little arrow stopped on $5.00 so both Daniel and Dick went to the treasurer’s table to ante up their fines.

Carlton Smith handled the Floyd’s Fund raffle with finesse. This project benefits the club’s Scholarship Fund. Carlton raised $44.00 ($22.00 each for the club and the lucky ticket holder of #674518---Randolph Reeves. Randolph generously donated his win back to the club which meant that the Scholarship Fund grew by $44.00 in one fell swoop!
